2018 Prize Winners

We awarded several prizes for MothNight 2018.  We would like congratulate the winners and also thank the organisations who provided the prizes.


Best Resident Micro-moth

Jamie McMillan from Dorset won a weekend's accomodation at Bawdsey Hall, and a morning inspecting the traps with local moth-er Matthew Dean.  Jamie trapped the rare pyral Sclerocona acutellus at Briantspuddle in Dorset.


Best Resident Macro-moth

This prize for a wildlife trip with Glenloy Wildlife was won by Paul Tatner who trapped a Southern Wainscot in Renfrewshire - a new county record.


Best Migrant reported to Flight Arrivals

Matthew Deans won a £50 voucher to spend at Atropos Books.  Matthew trapped at Beautiful Marbled at Bawdsey Manor.


Random Entrants Draw

Four recorders were selected at random from those submitting data to Moth Night 2018  These prizes were supplied by BC (Moth Atlas) and Atropos:

Random Event Organisers Draw

Watkins and Doncaster provided the prize of a £50 voucher for an event organiser selected at random.  Harestanes Countryside Visitor Centre were the recipients of this prize.
